Configure an Existing Server

You can configure the existing server definitions displayed on the Servers view.

Follow these steps:

1. Select Window, Show Views, Servers to display the Servers view.
2. Right-click the server you want to configure and click Update Server.

   An Update File Server Connection dialog opens for an InterTest server. For a CICS server, an Update CICS Server Connection dialog opens.

3. Modify the details for the server that you want to configure.
   • Name

     Specifies the name of the server connection. You can use uppercase and lowercase alphanumeric characters, and embedded spaces when entering a value in this field.

   • Host

     Specifies the z/OS host name assigned by your installation. This is the host name used for TSO or CICS logon.

   • Port

     Specifies the TCP/IP port number of an InterTest or a CICS server.

     • For a CICS region—This field must be the port number configured in the CICS region.
     • For an InterTest server—This field must be the port number that is configured for the CA InterTest server running on z/OS UNIX System Services (USS).
   • Use as Default Server

     Specifies that this server is selected when you access the Batch Link Queue or Schedule Table.

   • (Optional) User ID

     Specifies the user ID for logging on to a z/OS system. Enter your user ID in this field.

   • (Optional) Save Password

     Specifies whether you want to save the password. If you save the password, CA InterTest preloads the saved password into the Logon dialog whenever you are prompted to enter your user ID and password. If you do not save it, you will be prompted for your password whenever you log on to CA InterTest. Until the password is deliberately reset or a logon fails, you will be prompted for a user ID and password only when you first use a server. Check this box to save your password.

   • Clear Password

     Specifies that you do not want to save the stored password.

   • CA TestingTools Server Start JCL (CA InterTest administrator only)

     Specifies whether you want to use the default JCL code available with CA InterTest or use your own code. Click one of the following:

     • Default JCL—Restores the JCL code generated by CA InterTest when storing a JCL job to start the InterTest server in a z/OS USS region.
     • Edit JCL—Lets you edit the contents of the JCL job already submitted to start the InterTest server using the Edit JCL dialog. Open the dialog, edit the required code statements, and click OK to save your changes.
4. Click Finish.

   The server definition is updated and the Servers view shows the details of the modified server.
